Umma Knows Best, or UKB, is a website that
showcases the variety of food that my mother made. The website’s focal
points are the directions and ingredients written as a mother would
cook—the ambiguities in instructions—as cooking has become more of an
intuition. The colors chosen are my mother’s favorite ones to highlight
the uniqueness of her creations. UKB also introduces the personality
of my mother and how she developed her distinct cooking style for the
viewer to appreciate the hands that created these delicious dishes.
